HoYoverse reveals Nefer for Genshin Impact Luna II
By Marco Wutz

Genshin Impact Luna II (Version 6.1) will see the release of Nefer as a playable character. She first debuted as an NPC in the game during Luna I, the current version, confirming that she’ll be wielding Dendro as her element.
Nefer was introduced during the story as the owner of the Curatorium of Secrets in Nasha Town. She tries to keep a status of neutrality between all of Nod-Krai’s factions and primarily trades in information and favors, though it appears as if her establishment isn’t above taking odd jobs — when we first meet Nefer’s subordinate, Jahoda, she comes back from locating a missing cat.
Then again, since Nefer has a pet cat she evidently loves very much – just look at the massive cat tree in her office – this may simply have been a job she took on for her own sake.
Nefer’s Constellation is called Ludus Latrunculorum, which is the name of an ancient Roman board game said to be very strategic in nature. We don’t actually have enough information on the game to reconstruct its exact rules, though.
Lauma, who appears to know Nefer very well, says the following about her: “Sometimes, I talk to the snakes too. They tell me that even the most cold-blooded among them seeks out the branch best suited for it to coil upon. It's a good thing that Nod-Krai is home to so many trees — more than enough for every snake to find a place that it can truly call its own.”
Nefer is heavily associated with snakes and cats, which fits her design and name, as both are inspired by ancient Egypt, corresponding to her being originally from Sumeru.
Genshin Impact Luna II is set to be released towards the end of October 2025.
