Sucker Punch seems to be playing it safe with Ghost of Yotei
By Marco Wutz

The State of Play broadcast showing off brand-new gameplay from Ghost of Yotei, the upcoming open-world RPG from Sucker Punch Productions, ran its course last night and confirmed that it will deliver more of what its predecessor offered.
Yotei isn’t deviating a whole lot from Ghost of Tsushima in any aspect, which is going to be great for fans of the first game, but a little disappointing for anyone hoping for something different. The title builds on the foundations of the first game, improving many of its aspects, but also holds on to more controversial features like the rock-paper-scissors-combat.
You can check out the broadcast below to dive into the nitty gritty:
There’s good news for anyone looking to pick up a PS5 for Ghost of Yotei as well: A bundle with the game and a limited edition of the console is in the works. The console’s design is inspired by kintsugi, a Japanese process of repairing broken ceramics by using lacquer and gold, which can lead to incredibly beautiful patterns on the repaired object where breaks have been mended.
There will be a gold and a black version of this limited design with the first being available all over the globe and the second being exclusive to PlayStation’s online store in the United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Spain, Portugal, Italy, and Austria.
Whereas the gold version is inspired by kintsugi, the black one follows the principles of sumi-e, an artform based on painting with black ink. Both designs look stunning in their own right.
Covers for PS5 Slim and PS5 Pro will be available in the golden design, but not the black one. The Ghost of Yotei bundles will go on sale on October 2, 2025, along with the game, with pre-order information to be shared at some point ahead of that.
