HoYoverse has teased an upcoming Honkai game with creature collection elements during the concert celebrating the second anniversary of Honkai: Star Rail. A short video at the end of the concert showed characters from both Honkai Impact 3rd and Honkai: Star Rail in the company of fantastical creatures, which then started to fight each other in the style of Pokémon battles.

It’s been known for a while now thanks to job postings that HoYoverse has been working on a brand-new title using the Honkai IP and featuring creature collector elements.

Recently, the company filed trademark applications for a game called Honkai: Nexus Anima and reserved social media accounts for it. It's assumed that Nexus Anima is the project HoYoverse teased during the concert.

Going by what has been shown in the teaser and the title – a nexus being a hub – this upcoming game will serve as a massive crossover between different Honkai games.

“Here I am, in a new plane,” Honkai Impact 3rd protagonist Kiana Kaslana says in the teaser. “There are so many fascinating new things here — and fresh challenges, too!”

Her small, dog-like critter takes on a wolf-like creature accompanying HSR’s Blade in the video, but it cuts out before we can see any of the action.

There is currently no release date or platform announcement for the upcoming game.

HoYoverse also announced the start date and characters for the HSR x Fate UBW collaboration.
