Honkai: Star Rail 3.5 – release date, events, and features

HSR 3.5, titled Before Their Deaths, is headed our way with quick and certain steps. HoYoverse revealed details about the upcoming update during the latest developer livestream — and it sure doesn’t look like the Amphorean pain train of emotions and twists will stop anytime soon.

Having traveled deep into Amphoreus’ past, Trailblazer and Cyrene need to contend with Lygus as they attempt to secure the Coreflame of Law from its holder, Cerydra. Meanwhile, The Herta and Screwllum are working their way into the world, trying to unmask Lygus’ true identity.

HSR 3.5 – release date & trailer

HSR 3.5 will be released on August 13, 2025, for PC, PS5, iOS, and Android.

The HSR 3.5 trailer, which you can find below, is more of an introduction to the entire second half of the Amphoreus story, also showing us glimpses of Cyrene’s playable form and the new versions of March 7th and Dan Heng that are coming up.

HSR 3.5 – story & characters

HSR 3.5 will feature the Trailblaze Mission Chapter “Before Their Deaths” in which Trailblazer and Cyrene need to secure the Coreflame of Law, which is currently held by Cerydra, to attain administrative access to the Emperor’s Scepter housing Amphoreus. They’ll meet Aglaea and Tribbie once again, who have already been around at that time in the world’s history.

Naturally, Lygus tries to interfere with the whole plan, becoming a boss enemy in this update. It looks like The Herta and Screwllum will get more actively involved as well, perhaps finding their way into the system.

The HSR 3.5 banners will feature Hysilens and Cerydra as brand-new playable characters. DoT fans will want to take a close look at Hysilens, who looks to be a major boost for the playstyle, while Cerydra is joining the ranks of potent buff characters.

HSR 3.5 – events

The following events will be available in HSR 3.5:

• Chrysos Maze Grand Restaurant – restaurant management minigame; rewards include Stellar Jades and cosmetics.
• Old Brews & New Friends – return of the bartending minigame; rewards include Stellar Jades.
• Space Station Task Force – daily assignment event; rewards include Stellar Jades.
• Gift of Odyssey – login event providing ten limited pulls.
• Planar Fissure – double Planar Ornaments drop rate.
• Garden of Plenty – double Calyx drop rate.

HSR 3.5 – features & additions

HSR 3.5 will introduce a new map of Styxia, showing the coastal city before Evernight fell on it.

Sea Siren’s Torn Fin, a new ascension material for Ice-type characters can be obtained from Stagnant Shadow (Shape of Sirens) starting with HSR 3.5.

Starting with HSR 3.5, players can enable the Japanese voiceovers for Saber and Archer while keeping the English voiceovers for everything else in the game.
