HoYoverse reveals The Dahlia for HSR 3.8

Remember when HoYoverse pulled one of the best red herring operations in gaming history by hyping up Duke Inferno and Ever-Flame Mansion as the big baddies for Penacony, only to have Acheron kill the fool off screen and turn him into a Relic set to enhance her own badassery? As Honkai: Star Rail fans, we remember — and still mourn for some of the fantastic characters that were revealed in that Ever-Flame Mansion teaser, only to never show up in the game. Well, we are getting our heart’s desire at last: Constance alias The Dahlia will be a playable 5-Star character in HSR 3.8. She follows The Nihility and deals Fire DMG.

We don’t know why she’s going with “The” Dahlia at this point — a fun little reference to Genshin Impact’s Dahlia or a nod towards Constance being a The Herta stan? In any case, Duke Inferno called Constance his most capable follower back in that teaser and ordered her to go after Black Swan in Penacony.

With the developers already having confirmed that we’ll return to the Planet of Festivities for a bit of story dessert after the Amphoreus finale in Version 3.7, it looks like we’ll finally get to see how that’s going to play out.

“Your memories... are quite thorny. So, why don't we start with me laying my thoughts bare...? My name is Constance, and those who have fallen to my charms call me 'The Dahlia.' Don't be afraid. Come with me. In this duet belonging only to the two of us, you will learn how the past is being cremated and how the future is being buried,” The Dahlia is quoted as saying in her drip marketing post.

The description further states: “The sweet dream burns the Ever-Flame Mansion, erasing every fragment of her existence. Destruction. Remembrance... Along its path, blossoms of betrayal rise and bloom — to return to the dreamscape no one remembers, who will be the one to set her aflame again?”

HSR 3.8 is expected to launch in December 2025.
