Konami has confirmed that a Silent Hill 1 Remake is currently in development at Bloober Team, the studio behind 2024’s successful Silent Hill 2 Remake. The publisher has not announced the platforms the game will be available on or a release date yet.

The original Silent Hill was released in 1999 for PlayStation and became a massive hit, counting among the best horror games ever made. It was followed by several sequels and spin-offs. The game already received a reimagining in the form of Silent Hills: Shattered Memories in 2009 at the hands of Climax Studios for Nintendo Wii, but Bloober’s version is likely going to be much closer to the original.

Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 Remake came to PS5 in October 2024 and is confirmed to come to PC after its exclusivity window of twelve months runs out. Members of the original development team were part of the Remake’s production for Silent Hill 2, so there should be no issues for a similar cooperation between Bloober and Konami on the new project.

The Silent Hill 2 Remake received very positive feedback from critics and players, becoming the fastest-selling entry into the series. It crossed a million sales four days after launch and stood at two million sales in January 2025. It’s no wonder that Konami immediately greenlit a follow-up.
