Korean mythology action RPG Project TAL announced for PC and consoles

Korea’s game industry is looking for its next big hit after the success of Stellar Blade and developer MADNGINE and publisher WEMADE MAX hope that Project TAL is going to be it.
Announced for PC and consoles with a targeted launch in 2027, the title will be a single-player open-world action RPG rooted in Korean mythology — a setting that’s pretty much unexplored for triple-A games.
Project TAL will enable players to climb up on giant foes to deliver cinematic – and deadly – strikes, exploit enemy weak points to shift the flow of a battle, and work in tandem with their reactive NPC companions.
TAL’s companions have unique move sets and abilities to fulfill various roles and are said to dynamically react to the environment and player’s actions, enabling close cooperation. This includes companions catching a player who’s thrown off an enemy or deploying barriers to intercept incoming attacks.
“Project TAL combines an emotionally resonant story about healing a wounded world with the exhilarating combat of a classic action RPG. With MADNGINE’s technical expertise and artistic vision, we’re creating a AAA open-world title built to compete on a global stage,” commented WEMADE MAX co-CEO Myun-seok Son.
