Mafia: The Old Country gets August 2025 release date on PC, PS5, and Xbox

Hangar 13 and 2K Games have announced the release date for Mafia: The Old Country, which will come to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S on August 8, 2025.
Its Standard Edition will be priced at $49.99 USD, bringing it in line with recent hit releases Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered. The Deluxe Edition costs an extra ten dollars and comes with a variety of bonus items as well as a digital artbook and the original soundtrack. Both versions offer pre-order bonuses, netting buyers additional cosmetics.
Mafia: The Old Country will offer a linear narrative experience and do away with the franchise’s usual – quite bare – open-world aspect, diverging from its predecessors.
“That focus allows us to deliver a story that’s gritty, grounded, brutal and emotional,” explained Hangar 13’s Nick Baynes in a statement. “Embracing early 1900s era Sicily, this is a mafia origin story that follows our protagonist, Enzo Favara, as he takes the oath and works his way up Don Torrisi’s crime family.”

“We think there’s a large audience for compelling stories that don’t require massive time commitment. We’re excited to offer a game like Mafia: The Old Country in our portfolio, and to provide a linear highly-polished narrative experience that can easily complement the other more persistent games our players also love and engage with on a more consistent basis,” David Ismailer from 2K Games added.
