New VAs for Toad and Peach confirmed

Both Toad and Peach were played by new voice talents in Mario Kart World, taking over from Samantha Kelly. Kelly had voiced both of them for close to 20 years, but now Toad and Peach have their own VAs — and after being kept anonymous for launch, they were finally allowed to reveal themselves.

Toad is voiced by Paul Castro Jr. and Peach (as well as Baby Peach) by Courtney Lin — both are experienced in the field and will be known to fans of HoYoverse games in particular. 

Castro Jr. voices Freminet in Genshin Impact and Opal in Honkai: Star Rail, while Lin used to be the voice of Lucy in Zenless Zone Zero, though she gave the role up starting with ZZZ 1.1. She’s also done several NPC voices in Genshin Impact and starred in Neon White.

“Can't thank Nintendo enough for letting me live out this childhood dream,” Castro Jr. posted.

Lin wrote: “Eternally grateful for Nintendo, for trusting me to help carry the legacy of this icon. These characters are so much bigger than ourselves. I am so honored and honestly can still hardly believe it. I have so much respect for all of the Peaches that came before me, especially the one I grew up with.”

Mario and Donkey Kong have also received new VAs over the past two years, so the change of guard over at Nintendo is in full swing.
