Skydance Games announced that Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra will be released in early 2026 — a delay of the Plaion-published from the initial launch target in the ongoing year.

“Taking this additional time will allow us to add more polish, and make sure we give you the best possible experience, and one that lives up to our vision,” the developer stated. “We have some exciting things in store and look forward to sharing more soon!”

Though this might simply be a general statement, this could mean that Skydance is going to be at the upcoming Summer Game Fest 2025 to show off the game. People are especially excited to see some gameplay, because story trailers and tech demos are the only types of footage fans have seen from it thus far. It's described as a single-player action-adventure title and is built on Unreal Engine 5, but no gameplay details or platforms have been revealed.

Loosely based on a limited series of comics from 2010, the game takes place in Nazi-occupied Paris and has Captain America team up with Black Panther to combat the rising Hydra. Aside from this duo, two more characters will be playable. The game’s lead writers are Amy Hennig, Marc Bernardin, and Todd Stashwick.

Skydance Games was founded in 2019 and is currently also working on an untitled Star Wars game with Amy Hennig as lead writer.
