We get our first look at Menace’s aliens in a trailer by the Astartes creator in another Warhammer 40k connection

If you’re a fan of turn-based tactical combat, Menace is currently the hottest game to watch. Developed by Overhype Studios, the team behind Battle Brothers, it combines challenging and immersive tactical battles with an engaging strategic layer, its mechanics and aesthetics being inspired by the likes of Warhammer 40,000.
Stranded in a sector that was cut off from galactic civilization, players not only have to contend with human threats in this game — a mysterious alien force, the titular Menace, rears its ugly head. So far we only had descriptions and concept art to give us an impression of these freaks, but a new cinematic trailer for the game has finally given us a detailed look at the body-horror monstrosities we’ll have to fight.
What’s more, the trailer provides yet another connection to Warhammer 40,000, because it was directed by none other than Astartes creator Syama Pedersen and produced by Hoplite VFX of Star Wars 212 fame. It’s basically an all-star task force when it comes to creating footage of a firefight between small squads.
The video shows forces of marines and pirates annihilating each other in a rundown building, only for the corpses to be dragged down into the depths by an unknown presence at the end, and be dissolved inside a pool of icky goo from which a hideous creature emerges that I can only describe as a Terminator with fleshy bits. Talk about a trailer fit for Halloween, eh?
Menace is coming to PC on February 5, 2026.
