Konami just held what was more or less an echo of its E3 conferences of yesteryear, in a presentation called Konami Press Start, which brought with it new details and announcements for the company’s games and IPs. Among them was a newly announced multiplayer mode for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, and it looks pretty interesting.

The new mode is called Fox Hunt, and Konami says it’s “set in the same world as the main story” of Metal Gear Solid Delta. It’s a completely original game mode, unlike other versions of Metal Gear Online seen in past games, and is said to have “completely different” gameplay compared to the main game.

Fox Hunt will have players playing an extreme game of hide-and-seek, with players able to camouflage themselves with their surroundings, no matter what those surroundings are. Not many details for the mode were revealed during the presentation, and the Fox Hunt section on the Metal Gear Solid website only offers the following brief description:

An all-new online multiplayer mode, set in the same world as the main story. This new mode makes use of stealth and survival elements to deliver exciting hide-and-seek-style back-and-forth gameplay.

Alongside the announcement of Fox Hunt mode, Konami also revealed that Secret Theater videos will now be found as collectibles in-game, with enemy characters sometimes carrying tapes that, when collected, will give players access to a video. There are also new Secret Theater videos that are unique to Metal Gear Solid Delta, as well as scenes from the original release.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is set to be released on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on August 28, 2025.
