The second title update for Monster Hunter Wilds is set to be released on June 29, 2025, for all platforms the game is available on and Capcom has already revealed some of the additions that players can look forward to.

Naturally, a fresh foe to fight headlines the list of upcoming content: Lagiacrus, a familiar face for veterans of the series, will become available as prey. Players need to reach Hunter Rank 31 and complete the main story mission “A World Turned Upside Down” plus the side mission “Forest Doshaguma” to gain access to an extra mission featuring this giant aquatic reptile. Though the battle against Lagiacrus mainly takes place on the surface, there will be a special underwater section.

Joining Lagiacrus in the roster of huntable monsters is Seregios. Once again, you need to be at least Hunter Rank 31 and have finished “A World Turned Upside Down” to accept the mission to seek out this foe and bring it down. Prepare to deal with lots of bleeding status effects when you tackle this one.

Both monsters will join the line-up of tempered 8-Star monsters above Hunter Rank 41 as well, once you’ve completed their missions.

Title Update #2 will also bring the ability to customize weapons cosmetically by obtaining their layered versions and allows you to swap between Alma and Erik as your handler once you’ve dealt with Lagiacrus. The roster of supper hunters grows as well, as sword-and-board wielder Mina joins the group.

From July 23 to August 6, 2025, the Festival of Accord: Flamefete will be available as a seasonal event in the game, bringing the chance to grab exclusive rewards.

Meanwhile, the game’s rating on Steam has gone down even further, with recent user reviews becoming “Overwhelmingly Negative” due to the game’s continued performance problems.
