NTE confirms first-person mode, outfits, and combat overhaul for next test
By Marco Wutz

Hotta Studio has published a post-mortem for the recent Neverness to Everness beta test, in which the developer confirmed that the game will get another beta test and revealed its plans regarding new content and features that will be available in it. Additionally, the team went into detail about changes and adjustments the game will receive based on community feedback.
NTE’s next test version will contain more slice-of-life content featuring the game’s characters and expand its housing system with the ability to add characters as roommates and unlock special interactions with them. Outfits will also be available for all characters. A portable music player and more challenging combat content are on the agenda in addition to more story episodes.
In the previous beta, players were already able to switch to first-person mode when driving vehicles, but Hotta wants to take this further and enable users to play from a first-person perspective on foot as well. Players will also be able to get a job as taxi drivers and couriers, while their shops will double as teleportation points for higher quick travel coverage — a needed change, based on our own NTE beta impressions.
In terms of improvements, Hotta will focus on getting combat and driving right until launch rolls around. Summoning vehicles will become smoother, while ranged characters will be able to parry attacks to better integrate them into combat rotations. Onboarding is another point that will be addressed — both in terms of tutorials, but also in how skill descriptions are written and presented.
Appropriate for the game’s scope, the to-do list is a fairly long one. Fortunately for Hotta, it only touches a few mechanical fundamentals of the title, meaning that it already got a lot of aspects right in the eyes of potential players.
