Persona 5: The Phantom X Version 2.2 patch notes
By Ryan Woodrow

It’s October and summer is a distant memory, but P5X is still giving you some time to enjoy the sun with the second part of its summer update. Version 2.2 is giving us the second of our two summer-themed characters for this year, along with the latter half of the special beach event for the Phantom Thieves of Desire. If that’s not enough, you also get to meet a new character before they become a Phantom Idol in 2.3.
Here are the full patch notes for P5X update 2.2, so you know everything to look out for.
New Phantom Idol – Seaside Tomoko/Summer Moko
The second summer variant for a Phantom Idol is being released with this update. This time, it’s Tomoko getting the tropical treatment. Moko is a unit in dire need of an upgrade too, as we ranked her very low in our P5X character tier list. With this 5-Star variant of the character, she has more powerful Psy-based attacks while still primarily slotting into a support role as a healer.
Summer! Swimsuits! Sea Time! Part Two
The second part of the summer event is going live with this update too. On top of the shooting challenge from part one, you’ll now have the Shaved Ice Shuffle, where you’ll be fulfilling orders for beachgoers to progress through the rankings and earn rewards. On top of that, new bond scenes will be unlocked, with Riko, Merope, and Shun all becoming available, and you can watch fireworks with them once you’ve completed them.
Wonder Swimsuit Outfit
After the last update gave us a purchasable swimsuit for Makoto, this one now gives it to Wonder. Like the others, this will be available for Meta Jewels in the shop, with no current timeframe on when they’ll become unavailable, if ever, so there’s no rush.
New Synergy Bond – Kira Kitazato (Messa)
A new Synergy Bond is being added with this update, and it’s another case of a character being introduced to City Life before they become a Phantom Idol. Kira Kitazato is set to become Messa, a Phantom Idol in the Version 2.3 update, but before then, here’s your chance to get to know him as a Synergy character first.
Synergy Bond Reset – Turnaround Tickets
You’ll now also be able to rewind and reset the Synergy Bonds you’ve already completed with a new resource called Turnaround Tickets. The primary purpose of these is to get both sets of rewards for all of the romancable characters in P5X, as they all have one set of rewards for the romance route and another for the platonic route.
