Palworld PS5 save game issues are solved, but some players will need to delete their files
By Marco Wutz

Pocketpair has been investigating issues with lost save games in Palworld on PS5 and found the root of the problem: When too many save files – including autosave and backups – build up, it causes a system error on the PS5 backend, which results in the game failing to save and corrupting data. Pocketpair took responsibility for this, stating that “this is ultimately our fault, and we apologise to our players for the difficulties and trouble this has caused.”
A Palworld update on July 10, 2025, will push a solution: PS5 players will only have access to ten save game slots and general improvements to the save game system will be implemented.
Pocketpair said that players with more than ten save games shouldn’t lose access to the surplus files, but noted that users seeing the error codes CE-100022-5 or CE-100096-6 will be likely to encounter the same issues again in the future, unless they are deleting all of their save files. It seems like the save data of players affected by these specific errors has been corrupted to the point of no return.
“We regret to inform these players that the only solution in this case will be to completely delete all your Palworld save data before playing,” Pocketpair said.
Palworld recently got a major update featuring its Terraria crossover.
