Persona 4 is officially getting a remake

Perhaps one of the worst kept secrets in recent video game history, Sega and Atlus have finally revealed the existence of a remake of Persona 4 at the Xbox Games Showcase 2025.
Officially titled Persona 4 Revival, the game is a brand-new ground-up remake of the classic Persona game that skyrocketed the series into the mainstream. Much like Persona 3 Reload before it, Persona 4 Revival seems to be a very straightforward remake of Persona 4, with new 3D environments, refined character designs, and likely a few surprises for good measure.
Here’s the description, courtesy of Microsoft:
A remake of the modern classic JRPG, Persona 4 Revival received a debut trailer, showing off the game’s gorgeous updated visuals within the rural town of Inaba. Arriving as a transfer student, you’ll experience an unforgettable year with new friends you meet along the way. However, rumors of bizarre murders and a mysterious TV channel quickly disrupt your peaceful everyday life. A door to another world opens, awakening your Persona abilities: it is time to fight alongside your trusted allies to uncover the truth.
It comes after the relatively recent remasters of both Persona 3 and Persona 4 Golden, the latter of which was released on PC in 2020 and on Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S in early 2023. It’s not currently known if Revival will feature changes and additions made in the Golden version of the game, or if it will be focused entirely on the content that appeared in the PlayStation 2 release of Persona 4.
No release date has been set for Persona 4 Revival just yet, but it’s said to be coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC at some point in the future. No Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2 release has been announced.
