Pokémon TCG Pocket will fix the Deluxe Pack ex… next Summer
By Dave Aubrey

Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket has announced a key update to how the Card Dex Registration works, fixing TCG Pocket's biggest misstep yet, but it won’t get fixed until Summer 2026.
The development team has finally responded to fan feedback, stressing that Deluxe Pack: ex cards will count toward earlier card dex collections and vice versa, but the update won’t because available until “after Summer 2026.”
We'd like to share some news about future updates to the card dex in #PokemonTCGPocket.

Deluxe Pack: ex has been controversial for TCG Pocket fans. The limited-time pack is only available for the month of October, includes fewer cards per pack, and guarantees an ex card, limiting players’ ability to complete the base set. This is despite the fact that there are 353 cards available in the base Deluxe Pack: ex set, more than double other single boosters introduced to the game.
To make matters worse, the cards in set are mostly reprints of previously available cards, but the reprints you pull only count toward the Deluxe Pack: ex set, and previous cards you earned do not. The pack that was intended to help players fill the gaps in their sets did the exact opposite.
The developers have heard your (and my) complaints, and the Deluxe Pack: ex will be fixed, but we might waiting until yet another anniversary booster arrives at the end of year 2, which is a very long time to wait to complete your Deluxe Pack: ex card set.
Until then, you can always trade to complete the latest set, though it might take you a very long time.
