PS5 price increasing in United States tomorrow, August 21

If you live in the United States and you want a PS5 or PS5 Pro, you have 24 hours to get one at a cheaper price.

Sony PlayStation just announced PS5 price increases in the US via the PlayStation Blog.

The blog reads as follows:

“Similar to many global businesses, we continue to navigate a challenging economic environment. As a result, we’ve made the difficult decision to increase the recommended retail price for PlayStation 5 consoles in the U.S. starting on August 21.”

The price have been updated and increased, and these will be the new recommended PS5 console prices in the USA:

  • PlayStation 5 – $549.99
  • PlayStation 5 Digital Edition – $499.99
  • PlayStation 5 Pro – $749.99

The price of PS5 accessories has not changed.

This follows a PS5 price increase in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, and the company stating that they were considering a US PS5 price increase. Today, that seems to have finally happened.

Fans hopeful to buy a PS5 or PS5 Pro have 24 hours to get one at a slightly cheaper recommended retail price.
