PUBG is shutting down on PS4 and Xbox One later this year
By Ryan Woodrow

The team behind PUBG: Battlegrounds has announced that support for the game on PS4 and Xbox One will be ending on November 13, 2025. After this date, the game will be unplayable and undownloadable on these platforms.
This is part of the team’s stated plans to “transition PUBG Console to current-generation consoles”, and have decided that, as a part of that, the last-gen versions of the game need to be dropped, as they are holding back development. In their statement, the team explained that “following this transition, console players will see improved visuals and more stable frame rates. In addition, we expect to reduce ongoing crash issues through memory-related optimizations.

While PUBG switched to a free-to-play model in 2022, it’s likely that anyone who played the game on the last-gen consoles purchased it. However, the statement clarifies that anyone seeking a refund will need to do so via the PS or Xbox Store, which means it’s unlikely you’ll be able to get your money back. However, provided you use the same PS or Xbox account, you will be able to pick up your account on the current-gen consoles without any issues.
Either way, if you’re currently playing PUBG on a PS4 or Xbox One, you have until November 13 to decide where you want to switch to.
