RimWorld is the gift that keeps on giving for fans of colony simulation games: Developer Ludeon Studios has once again teased an expansion for the PC game.

Ludeon revealed the key art of the upcoming DLC on BlueSky to give fans something to debate on, which has become the modus operandi for the studio’s expansion announcements. Said key art seems to depict a scarred and bearded explorer or scout with a tamed raven on his shoulder. The compass, sample containers, and scout animal at least indicate an explorer-type character. Or a futuristic delivery man like in Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding, who knows?

Even more intriguing is the background, though, where we can see small spacecraft as well as a larger space station. This might well hint at an expansion of the overworld gameplay and space aspect of the game, which all have remained relatively untouched in previous DLCs and are ripe for the introduction of additional mechanics and possibilities. Alternatively, the elements could be merely symbolic for a general expansion of the travel systems in the game — as always, it’s not possible to interpret something like this with absolute certainty.

Since its release in 2018, RimWorld has received four DLCs that expanded its mechanics and content: Royalty in 2020, Ideology in 2021, Biotech in 2022, and Anomaly in 2024.

Ludeon intends to reveal more information on June 11, 2025.
