The Rogue Prince of Persia launches out of early access today
By Ryan Woodrow

The first of two Xbox Gamescom streams has given us one big surprise so far, with The Rogue Prince of Persia, the roguelike action platformer developed by Evil Empire, which co-developed Dead Cell’s DLC.
It’s been in early access for a little over a year, with the community having a lot of influence over the game’s development, most notably in how the art direction has changed over time, but also in how the flow of platforming and combat comes together. So far it’s been received well, and the parkour system is particularly interesting, as you can wall-run across the background of most rooms, which is a unique use of the 2D perspective.

It’s not just about the gameplay though, as there’s also a main story objective, and you can find various characters throughout the world to expand your home base to give you the best chance possible of success in your next run.
After all this development version 1.0 is available today, which means those who own the game on Steam will have an update incoming, but if you don’t already own the game, then good news, as it’s also coming to Xbox Games Pass today for all subscribers.
