Stellaris: Shadows of the Shroud release date revealed for PC
By Marco Wutz

Paradox has announced that Stellaris: Shadows of the Shroud will be released on September 22, 2025, for PC. Jointly developed by Belgian studio Abrakam, the expansion will be available for a suggested retail price of $19.99 USD and completely revamp the Psionic Ascension Path.
Things are getting a little bit Eldritch in this DLC, with players gaining the ability to pierce the mysterious Shroud. The decisions taken during this arduous process will lead to your species attuning to specific Patrons inside the Shroud, because – yes, spoilers – something’s in there. Deepen your attunement to your Patron and you’ll derive even stronger benefits from them.
Those benefits and their, uhm, unintended consequences will automatically manifest from the heart of your empire and transform it correspondingly — and the same goes for your friendly neighbors. And your unfriendly neighbors. This is literal cosmic-level aura farming. Only the Mindwarden Enclave can halt such psionic fields from spreading further.
Shadows of the Shroud will also expand the End of the Cycle, which has been introduced with the Utopia DLC. Don’t worry, though: You won’t need to own Utopia to make use of this feature, as Shadows of the Shroud will grant you access to it on its own, delivering extra content for it.
On top of new and expanded mechanics, the DLC will add new Origins, Civics, Governments, events, portraits, and ships to the game.
