Sudden Strike 5 announced for PC, PS5, and Xbox

A familiar name from the RTS genre returns.
Kite Games / Kalypso

Any real-time tactics game fans despairing at the genre’s state have a new title to pin their hopes on: Kite Games and Kalypso have announced Sudden Strike 5 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S with targeted release in 2026.

A closed beta for the strategy game set in World War 2 will be happening this year with the registrations already being open on its official website.

Sudden Strike 5 will feature over 300 playable units from Allies and Axis and customizable commanders. Solo players can look forward to a 25-mission campaign, while multiplayer enthusiasts can dive into PvP game modes.

Sudden Strike’s founding title was released in 2000, spawning sequels in 2002, 2007, and 2017. Sudden Strike 4 was the first game of the series developed by Kite as well as the studio’s first shipped title in general, making key changes to the franchise in the form of commanders and skill trees, which seem to be returning in the fifth game.
