Original story follows.
The beloved Tales RPG series is getting another remaster, though this one is likely to divide fans.
Tales of Xillia Remastered is launching on October 31, 2025, on Nintendo Switch, PS5, Xbox Series consoles, and PC via Steam, as announced via a trailer on the Bandai Namco Entertainment YouTube channel.
The remaster features new quality of life enhancements, like a new destination icon, the ability to toggle off enemy encounters, and the inclusion of all DLC available for the original game. It looks set to easily be the definitive version of Tales of Xillia, which was a PS3 exclusive until now.
The buried lede is that Tales of Xillia 2 – one of the better direct Tales sequels – is missing from the package, being left as a PS3 exclusive. This is even more unfortunate, as the game was delisted from the PS3 digital store.
Still, the good news is that Tales of Xillia is still a fan favorite and was a bold evolution of the traditional Tales setting and storytelling. You can begin the game as either Jude or Milla, and each character will enjoy some exclusive scenes and perspectives.
If the recent Tales of Graces F remaster is anything to go by, Tales of Xillia will likely feature 60 fps gameplay and support high resolutions when it launches on October 31. There will be a Deluxe Edition available that features a digital artbook, digital soundtrack, alternate battle BGM pack, and a Super Growth Support Herb Set. A pack of basic support items will also be freely given away as a pre-order bonus.
