Titan Quest 2 delays Early Access release, now targets Summer 2025

Upcoming hack ‘n slay action RPG Titan Quest 2 was initially aiming to be released in Winter 2024/25, but missed this target without further communication. Publisher THQ Nordic has now formalized the decision to delay the Early Access launch to Summer 2025, reasoning that it wanted to avoid the “crowded action RPG release window” early in the year “to give the game the spotlight it deserves.”
THQ Nordic emphasized that the decision was not made because of any deficits with the game itself. “The team at Grimlore expressed deep gratitude for the overwhelming response to their recent demo playtest. With thousands of players participating, streaming, and filling out surveys, over 92 percent rated their experience as positive or very positive. Particularly encouraging was the feedback from long-time Titan Quest fans, who praised the game for capturing the spirit of the original while pushing forward with modernized systems,” the publisher stated in a press release.
That said, there are areas in which the game will benefit from additional time in the oven and even the publisher admitted that, stating that areas like “combat fluidity, ability aiming, and balance” as well as “performance optimizations” are being looked at.
Additional feedback from the playtest that’s currently being implemented includes “customizable control schemes and enhanced UI indicators.”
A follow-up to 2006’s Titan Quest, the game brings players back to a version of Ancient Greece in which mythology is very much reality and gods and monsters alike have it out for humans. In general terms similar to Diablo and other action RPGs, Titan Quest is renowned for its flexibility when it comes to character builds and ability customization — a trait the sequel wants to honor and replicate.
“Your detailed feedback is incredibly helpful as we refine Titan Quest 2,” the Munich-based studio wrote in its own message. “We're now preparing for Early Access while addressing your concerns. Some improvements will take longer than others, but we're committed to creating a worthy successor that honors the original Titan Quest's legacy while bringing in fresh ideas as well. One final little data point: according to the survey, the overwhelming majority of you would recommend the game to friends already, which tells us we have a strong foundation. Thank you again for your support and honest feedback. Seeing you play and talk about the game has motivated us even more to deliver the best possible experience!”
Titan Quest 2 Early Access will come to PC in Summer 2025 with the full version being planned for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S releases in the future.
