Valheim is coming to PS5 in 2026
By Marco Wutz

Iron Gate and Coffee Stain Publishing announced that Valheim will be released on PS5 in 2026. The Viking survival-crafting game is currently available on PC and Xbox Series X|S as an Early Access title.
Having been launched in 2021 and sold over 12 million copies since then, the game still hasn’t reached Version 1.0 despite several major content updates. The latest patch, titled Call to Arms, made changes to the game’s combat system and added more enemies, weapons, armor sets, and crafting materials.
Instead of expanding its team size to facilitate faster development following its massive success, Iron Gate has opted to pretty much retain its original manpower and work on Valheim at its own pace — a decision that hasn’t always been well-regarded among players, who oftentimes found themselves hungry for content updates that were taking their sweet time.
It’s currently unclear whether Valheim’s release on PlayStation will coincide with the launch of Version 1.0 or if owners of the Sony console will join under the Early Access framework.
