Xbox Game Pass Ultimate's price is increasing to $30 a month
By Ryan Woodrow

Today, Xbox unveiled all the ways in which Xbox Game Pass is being “upgraded”, and unfortunately, that includes price.
First of all, the different tiers of Game Pass are being renamed. What were once Core and Standard are now Essential and Premium, with Ultimate surging ahead of them both in price. The tiers are now priced like so:
- Essential – $9.99 a month
- Premium – $14.99 a month
- Ultimate – $29.99 a month
PC Game Pass is still around (though now hidden behind an extra tab on the site), and has also increased in price to $16.49 a month.
There are new things being added to your subscription to go along with the increase in price, though. Along with EA Play, Ultimate now also includes Ubisoft+ Classics, and starting from November 18, Fortnite Crew will also be included in the subscription, which will give Fortnite players access to all the in-game Battle Passes and an exclusive skin every month.
On top of that, the catalogue is expanding, now up to over 400 games available for Ultimate subscribers, along with promises to deliver “75+ day one games a year,” which includes all games published by Xbox. Still, with such a sharp increase in price, it’s sure to make some people reconsider whether what was once touted by many as “the best deal in gaming” is actually still worth it.
