ZZZ 2.0 release time and server maintenance details

Update (June 3, 2025, 1:54pm CEST): HoYoverse has fixed the issue that prevented PS5 players to log into ZZZ after preloading Version 2.0. It advised players to uninstall and redownload the title.

HoYoverse’s Zenless Zone Zero will turn one year old soon and Version 2.0 of the game comes with the necessary pomp and rewards to mark the occasion.

ZZZ 2.0 isn’t simply an anniversary patch, though: It’s a massive update that will fundamentally change how some core aspects of the game work, kick off a fresh story arc, and introduce new areas and characters to players. The ZZZ 2.0 banners will start us off with Yixuan, Pan Yinhu, and Ju Fufu from Yunkui Summit.

ZZZ 2.0 – server downtime

The Zenless Zone Zero servers are scheduled to go offline on June 6, 2025, at 6am (UTC+8) in preparation for update 2.0. Here’s what that means for your timezone:

The ZZZ servers are estimated to be offline for a total duration of five hours, after which users can log in once again and begin exploring the content included with patch 2.0.

ZZZ 2.0 – release time

Normally, HoYoverse doesn’t need any more time than the scheduled five hours, so here’s when Zenless Zone Zero update 2.0 should be available in your timezone if all goes according to plan:

Each hour of server downtime will be compensated with 60 Polychromes, so you can expect to receive at least 300 Polychromes for the inconvenience. In case maintenance takes longer than usual or bugs that impacted the player experience in the previous version have been fixed, you’ll receive additional Polychromes. Make sure to visit your inbox and claim your free currency inside a timeframe of 30 days following the update — otherwise it’ll vanish into a Hollow.

ZZZ 2.0 – preload

The preload for Zenless Zone Zero update 2.0 on PC, PS5, iOS, and Android is available — this will allow you to download most of the files needed to update the game ahead of time, enabling you to dive into the action much more quickly on launch day.

Players who want to dive in on the Xbox Series X|S version that will be released on June 6 can already preload the game as well — but only if they’ve bought the edition available in the store.

ZZZ PS5 version mismatch error

Be aware that preloading the game on PS5 appears to cause some trouble at the moment: User reports found online suggest that people can’t log into the game after having downloaded the upcoming version, as the game tells them that there’s a “version mismatch” on their console.

ZZZ 2.0 – download size

The download size for updates in HoYoverse games varies depending on the device you play on as well as the language packages you have installed, but here’s how large the files should be on average for ZZZ 2.0’s preload:

• PC: 43 to 44 GB
• Mobile: 17 to 18 GB
• PS5: 36 to 37 GB

Make sure to have extra space on your device beyond the stated download size, as the game will temporarily require some additional free storage to unpack all the data before installing the update. Naturally, ZZZ 2.0 is quite a bit larger than usual updates, since it brings a ton of new content into the game.
