ZZZ 2.1 release time and server maintenance details

ZZZ 2.1 is set to launch this week and will bring lots of summer-themed content to the game — there will be a beach event with activities like surfing and fishing as well as swimsuit skins for several characters, among them free outfits for protagonists Belle and Wise.

The update will also see the continuation of the storyline on Waifei Peninsula following what went down in ZZZ 2.0 and this will bring the introduction of a new faction called Spook Shack with two of its members, Ukinami Yuzuha and Alice Thymefield, on the ZZZ 2.1 banners.

ZZZ 2.1 – server downtime

The Zenless Zone Zero servers are scheduled to go offline on July 16, 2025, at 6am (UTC+8) in preparation for update 2.1. Here’s what that means for your timezone:

The ZZZ downtime is planned to last for five hours, after which you’ll be able to log in once again and begin exploring update 2.1’s content.

ZZZ 2.1 – release time

Normally, HoYoverse doesn’t need any more time than the scheduled five hours, so here’s when Zenless Zone Zero patch 2.1 should be available in your timezone under normal circumstances:

Each hour of server downtime will be compensated with 60 Polychromes, so you can expect to receive at least 300 Polychromes for the inconvenience. In case maintenance takes longer than usual or bugs that impacted the player experience in the previous version have been fixed, you’ll receive additional Polychromes. Make sure to visit your inbox and claim your free currency while Version 2.1 is live — otherwise it’ll vanish into a Hollow not even Phaethon can explore.

ZZZ 2.1 – preload

The preload for Zenless Zone Zero update 2.1 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, iOS, and Android is now available — this will allow you to download most of the files needed to update the game ahead of time, enabling you to dive into the action much more quickly on launch day.

The download size for updates in HoYoverse games varies depending on the device you play on, the language packages you have installed, and which content you’ve already played, but here’s how large the files should be on average for ZZZ 2.1’s preload:

• PC: 8 to 9 GB
• Mobile: 5 to 6 GB
• PS5: 14 to 15 GB
• Xbox: 20 to 21 GB

Make sure to have some extra space on your device beyond the stated size, as the game will temporarily require a bit of additional free storage to unpack all the data files before installing the update.
