HoYoverse reveals Seed for ZZZ 2.2

HoYoverse has announced the first new characters for Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.2: Seed from Obol Squad is set to join the line-up of playable Agents. As many players had suspected, the Attack Agent dealing Electric DMG is a bit more than a mere combat mech: Controlling the war machine is a young, blue-haired woman with impeccable skills as a pilot and mechanic.

It’s unclear whether Seed controls the mech – which she calls Seed Sr. – from inside like Firefly in Honkai: Star Rail or whether she uses technology akin to what Phaethon uses to steer Eous from outside the Hollows. “Proxies are like… our ‘kindred spirits.’ Just like four-leaf clovers and canola flowers,” Seed is quoted as saying, hinting at something of a connection.

Often making “adjustments and tweaks by feel,” Seed appears to rival Grace in terms of her skill as a mechanic and inventor. 

According to Trigger, Seed is a bit of a loner and prefers to be isolated from other people. Most intriguing, though, is the quote of an anonymous woman holding an old medical report in hand. “A mysterious, dangerous, cold-blooded monster… Is she really worth risking your life to protect, Seed Sr.?,” the woman says. Was Seed Sr. an actual person once? A mech with its own mind? If so, are there still remnants of Seed Sr. inside that mechanoid body?

Seed is set to arrive in the game with ZZZ with Version 2.2 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, iOS, and Android later this year.
