In the jungle, the mighty jungle, the voidspawn burrows tonight.

League of Legends Patch 9.8 rolls around to bring the focus towards the top lane as powerful tanks and carries emerge toward the north side of the map. This means junglers shift more towards utility and tanks capable of ganking and supporting their teammates, but some carries remain prevalent for team comps that need the extra punch in the early game.

Here are the five best junglers in League of Legends Patch 9.8.

5. Kindred

The Eternal Hunters are new to the Top 5 list but it's not for a lack of power. One of the only marksmen junglers played at a high level with significant carry power and a powerful ultimate, Lamb and Wolf can stalk the rift to get kills throughout the match. Their biggest weakness is their reliance on marks: if they can't get their four marks for the Mark of the Kindred (Passive) ability and begin to fall behind, then their squishy health bar and lack of versatile utility can make games very difficult.

4. Skarner

He's not the most powerful bug in the jungle, but he's not far off the mark. The buff to Skarner sees the Crystal Vanguard repeat in the Top 5. Although limited in possibility before level six, upon gaining that Impale (R) ultimate Skarner is a potent threat who effectively forces the entire opposing team to invest into Quicksilver Sashes and lose out on gold they could be spending more effectively. Potent ganking power as well as a decent dissuasion against divers, Skarner might be defined by one ability but darn if it isn't a good one.

3. Lee Sin

Appropriate that ahead of the Mid-Season Invitational in South-East Asia, the monk with the Muay Thai skin remains relevant as he has throughout the entire year. Incredible playmaking potential with an astronomical skill-cap, Lee Sin is difficult to pilot but his impact will rattle opponents like a shin to the skull.

2. Jarvan IV

The premier Tank in the jungle returns once more to show that his fancy Hextech skin is in vogue for more than just the 9.7 spring. Tough with strong engage and team-fighting power, the Prince of Demacia holds the regal second spot.

1. Rek'Sai

As mentioned, the Scourge of the Desert claims the number one spot for herself. While she's unlikely to receive a fancy fashionable K/DA skin and its gaudy golden counterpart like fellow purple jungler Evelynn, Rek'Sai can take comfort in knowing that she is the most powerful early-mid-game jungler in the game.
