The mid lane is one of the most pivotal positions in League of Legends. It's the fastest lane to the enemy nexus, and the most dangerous since the jungle and river are on both sides of the lane. A good mid lane champion can push lane easily, roam around the map quickly, and be pertinent in team fights.

With that in mind, here are the best five mid laners in League of Legends Patch 11.2.

5 Best Mid Laners in League of Legends Patch 11.2

Fizz

Fizz might not have the quickest wave clear in comparison to a lot of other mid lane champions. However, Fizz makes up for it in every other category. Fizz can quickly dash through the river. His Playful Trickster (E) ability makes him hard to hit. Seastone Trident (W) combined with Playful Trickster is good in team fights, and Chum the Waters (R) good for securing kills in general.

Galio

There's a reason Galio gets used a lot in professional play. His Winds of War (Q) deal a surprising amount of damage and can quickly clear minion waves, leaving him ample time to roam and ward if need be. His Justice Punch and Hero's Entrance are fantastic at catching enemies out of position, initiating team fights, and they can also be used to evade ganks.

Katarina

Katarina is one of the most lethal mid lane champions. Her Bouncing Blade (Q) makes clearing lanes easy. Her Preparation (W) gives her a boost in movement speed so she can quickly dip into the river or jungle if need be. Katarina can even start a fight with her Shunpo (E) and finish a fight with her Death Lotus (R).

Twisted Fate

Twisted Fate is another commonly used champion among professionals. Twisted Fate can clear lanes fairly quickly with his Wild Cards (Q). His Destiny (R) makes it easy for him to gank or cut off an opponent in the jungle. His Pick a Card (W) ability makes him so prevalent because of his gold and red cards which stun or slow an enemy. On top of all that, Twited Fate can keep his distance fairly easily with all the range his Wild Cards have.

Viktor

Viktor has also seen some picks and bans recently in professional play, and with good reason too. Viktor can clear minion waves quickly with either his Siphon Power (Q), Death Ray (E), or a combination of the two. His Gravity Field (W) and Chaos Storm (R), are both so impactful in team fights because of the stun and damage they apply. All of these abilities make it difficult to get in on Viktor and do damage. On top of that, if Viktor gets a kill, his passive means that Viktor can deal even more ability damage.
