League of Legends Patch 9.16 brings some substantial changes to mid laners that were falling out of the meta. These changes seem to be strong enough to push these champions back to a better spot and, hopefully, diversify the meta even more than it is now. As such, here are the five best mid laners in League of Legends Patch 9.16.

5. Syndra

Syndra has been weak for a while, but the changes to her damage against champions seems drastic and will hopefully allow her to control the laning phase like she used to do so effectively.

4. Ekko

Ekko also received changes in this patch. His damage on his E got increased, but the change that is more interesting is that his ult cooldown got reduced by a good margin in the late game. This allows for more aggression without punishment and might be very good for Ekko going forward.

3. LeBlanc

LeBlanc got a straight damage increased on her Q and we all know how dangerous she can be with the right amount of damage behind her. This change is reverting a nerf from earlier this year when she got to be out of hand so, hopefully, things will be more balanced this time around.

2. Zed

Zed is still a very strong choice for the mid lane in SoloQ right now. He has the power and mobility to carry games and engage late teamfights.

1. Fizz

Fizz has made great impacts on the meta and is such a strong pick for the mid laner right now. The untargetability mixed with his insane amount of mobility makes him a terrifying assassin.
