The top lane in League of Legends is home to a lot of bruiser and tank like champions. Top lane champion must be the front line for team fights. Be able to survive and deal damage over time. They also must be able to initiate fights easily. Surprisingly, this upcoming patch didn't change much in terms of the top lane.

That being said, here's the best five top lane champion is League of Legends Patch 11.3.

5 Best Top Laners in League of Legends Patch 11.3

Camille

Camille doesn't seem like a tank at first, but she certainly hits like one. Her Tactical Sweep (W) and Precision Protocol (Q) combo together to deal damage. Camille's Hextech Ultimatum (R) can initiate fights and plays a massive role in team fights. Although Ravenous Hydra and Sterak's Gage get nerfed this patch, it won't be enough to slow down Camille.

Renekton

"The Butcher of the Sands" is back as one of the kings of the top lane. Renekton can easily engage or disengage from fights with his Slice and Dice (E) ability. Ruthless Predator (W) and Dominus (R) are prevalent in any fight. On top of that, Renekton deals plenty of damage over time. Renekton typically builds Goredrinker and Sterak's Gage, which were both nerfed. These items may make Renekton less of a tank, but that doesn't stop Renekton from dealing damage.

Malphite

Malphite received no changes this patch, and was strong last patch. Malphite's Unstoppable Force (R) can start a brawl at any time. Malphite's Seismic Shard (Q) also gives him a bit of range over most of his top lane counterparts. Even the items Malphite brings didn't receive any changes, meaning Malphite stays as strong as ever.

Gnar

Gnar might be on of the smallest top lane champions, but he's also one of the strongest. Gnar outranges a lot of his top lane counterparts. Gnar also has easy ways to engage team fights between his Gnar! (R) and Hop/Crunch (E) abilities. Boomerang Toss (Q) allows Gnar to keep his distance if need be. Outside of a nerf to Sterak's Gage and Dead Man's Plate, Gnar's item pool wasn't hit all that hard.

Volibear

Volibear hasn't seen as much action in professional play since the World Championship back in October. That being said, the champion is still extremely powerful. Volibear can clear waves easily with The Restless Storm (passive). Sky Splitter (E) can be used both offensively and defensively. The ability grants Volibear a shield if cast on himself, and slows opponents in the radius. Stormbringer (R) paired with Frenzied Maul (W) means that Volibear can pack a punch in any fight. Lastly, his item build was almost untouched aside from Zhonya's which only costs 100 more gold.
