The top lane is one of the most important roles in League of Legends. Normally top laners serve as the front line for their team, tanking damage from enemy champions to allow your team s carries to carve a path straight to the nexus. Patch 11.4 is about to deal a huge blow to the top lane with major healing debuffs and damage increases in an attempt to even the playing field. But, despite these changes like always there will still be champions that shine above rest.

Here are the five best top lane champions in League of Legends Patch 11.4.

5 Best Top Laners in League of Legends Patch 11.4

Gnar

Starting off our list will be Gnar. This baby to behemoth of a champion was barely effected by the new patch, in fact he got a boost from the extra health given to the Chempunk Chainsword. He has a high win rate in both solo queue and pro play and it should be expected that we'll be seeing him a lot in the new patch.

Renekton

We know what you're thinking, Renekton got nerfed. But despite Renekton taking a hit to his ability to heal off minions he still has a solid sustain for top lane along with top tier damage output and wave clear. The healing debuff may have knocked Renekton down a grade, but he's still at the top of his class.

Olaf

Despite us never getting to see Olaf in pro play because he's always banned, he is still one of the best top lane champions in the game. Olaf's Undertow (Q) does ridiculous amounts of damage and the healing debuffs despite slightly altering his sustain increase his damage output with his passive giving him increased attack speed. Hopefully, in 11.4 we'll be able to see Olaf in some pro play instead of him being banned every game.

Tryndamere

Tryndamere is a viable pick in the top lane with the buff to his base AD. Early game he'll be able to bully out opposing top laners with his advantage in damage output. The attack speed increase on Gusinoo's Rageblade to 45% will be essential to any Tryndamere player looking to rain down critical strikes onto enemies.

Gragas

Gragas rounds out the list as the one champion able to benefit slightly from the AP item buffs in this patch. Although Gragas top generally functions as a tank in pro play if you want to spice it up and add a little more damage to him the AP boost to Morellonomicon is available.
