We've come up with five tips to playing Zeri in League of Legends. Zeri is the newest AD Carry marksman who was released on Jan. 20. Her kit allows her to be extremely mobile when using her electrifying abilities. Although Zeri is a new champion and will need some practice to master, she is fairly easy to play once players understand how her abilities can be utilized.

According to Riot Games, Zeri, the Spark of Zaun, grew up losing loved ones to the dangers of Zaun. Ever since she was a baby, Zeri had a strong connection with electricity. Her connection to electricity was unique and grew stronger as her emotions grew stronger. Her mother gifted her a rifle when she became older which uses her kinetic energy as ammo. Zeri promised to bring justice to Zaun, and to defeat those who could harm the people she loves.

5 Tips to Playing Zeri in League of Legends

Zeri was created to play as a bot laner, but players believe that she can be played in different roles on the rift. Zeri is able to roam the map quickly and fire her abilities which can be extremely useful during the game.

1. Learn Her Abilities

Like any new champion, learn Zeri's abilities and know how to use them. A detailed list of her abilities and what they do are as followed:

  • Q - Burst Fire: Q's passive makes Zeri's basic attacks deal magic damage and scales with AP. This is treated as an ability, because when Zeri basic attacks enemies, the energy is stored in her Sparkpack. When fully charged, her next basic attack will slow and deal bonus damage. Q's active shoots a burst of seven rounds which scales AD and deals physical damage.
  • W - Ultrashock Laser: Similar to Jinx and Jhin's W, Zeri shoots a laser beam at her enemy. This slows the first enemy on impact and damages them. What makes Zeri's W different is that if the laser makes impact with a wall, it will have a longer range.
  • E - Spark Surge: This ability is similar to Lucian's E. Zeri is able to dash which energizes her next 3 casts of Burst Fire. Zeri is also able to dash through terrains and walls.
  • R - Lightning Crash: Zeri discharges a nova of electricity, damaging nearby enemies, and overcharges herself for a moderate duration. While overcharged, Zeri gains increased damage, Attack Speed, and Move Speed.

2. Build the Correct Items on Zeri

Zeri is similar to Tristana, where her basic attacks deal magic damage, but her abilities scale with AD. Building the correct AD items on Zeri is crucial in a game so knowing when to build Kranken Slayer, Immortal Shieldbow or Galeforce is important. Try different items and see how they work with Zeri.

3. Play Around with Shields

Zeri's passive — Living Battery — is one of the most broken champion passives in the game right now. When Zeri is shielded by an ally, she gains movement speed. When Zeri is facing an opponent who is shielded, damaging the enemy shield will be absorbed and will grant Zeri her own shield. By having a support who can spam shields on Zeri, she can easily run down lanes, kill her enemy and leave without a scratch.

4. Don't Go into Fights Alone

Although it may be tempting to dash into a fight and use her ultimate ability on enemy champions, Zeri was built to be an ADC, making her squishy and not as sustainable as other teammates. Make sure there are teammates who can follow up during team fights.

5. Keep Moving

With a champion like Zeri, it's important to keep moving. Not only will the player be able to control her easier and quicker, but Zeri's high mobility allows her to make quick actions and deal a lot of damage quickly. Learning to keep moving with any champion is great practice for any player as it allows them to understand and get a feel of how the champion moves in game.
