With the arrival of the One Year Anniversary Event on May 23, Blizzard is opening up Overwatch to all players for a free weekend between May 26 and May 29.

The free weekend is available to players on all eligible consoles: PC, PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. PlayStation 4 players will still be required to have a PlayStation Plus subscription to play the game, with Xbox One owners similarly required to possess a Xbox Live Gold membership.

All usual content is available for players during this period, including all 24 heroes and 14 maps. For players who afterward decide to purchase Overwatch, the game will carry their progression and stats over from the free trial with them.

More information regarding the free weekend, including when the event will go live in each region and instructions on how to download and install the game, is available on the Overwatch site.
