The MIOM SSBM Rank is the current definitive ranking system for the top players in Super Smash Bros. Melee.

The top 100 players are not only a group of names to look out for at any tournament, but top 100 attendance is often used as a decent gauge for how stacked any bracket is.

Well, EVO 2017 is set to be an extremely stacked tournament for all the events, but for Melee specifically, the top 100 is set to show up in force.

Seventy one players from the top 100 will be in attendance, and more notably, 43 out of the top 50 on the list will be there, making the event even more top-heavy with talent.

Out of all the confirmed attendees, one former EVO runner-up has some fans extremely excited:

Robert "Wobbles" Wright will be at EVO 2017. The Ice Climbers pioneer is famous for his second-place run at EVO 2013, with victories over three of the "Five Gods" of the game. Will he stun with another upset performance this year?

Out of all the players not attending, two of the biggest missing players in terms of 2017 performance are Alex "Captain Smuckers" Cottrell and Zain "Zain" Naghmi.

Both have had incredible breakout years, with Captain Smuckers boasting several incredible wins during his trip to the west coast. Zain most notably scored a win over William "Leffen" Hjelte, the God-slayer and one of the top six players in the game:

Even without these incredible rising stars in attendance, EVO 2017 is set to be one of the most stacked and competitive tournaments of all time.
