Both Ninjas in Pyjamas and Liquid made off with the first round of playoff positions at the ESL One Cologne 2017 Group Stages Wednesday after some hard-fought battles against both mousesports and OpTic.

After Liquid beat OpTic, ESL announced the next round's matchups on Twitter, which are as follows:

Team Matchup to Watch:

SK Gaming and G2 will have an amazing battle against each other. This duel is the most important one of the day. Looking back, SK beat G2 in the ECS Season 3 finals, but G2 also beat SK in the ESL Pro League Season 5 finals on three maps.

On LAN, G2 looks better, but online betting sites say SK have a slight advantage. I'm most looking forward to seeing Kenny "kennyS" Schrub and Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo engage in AWP duels.

MVP:

Tyler "Skadoodle" Lantham has been a force to be reckoned with using his AWP on Cloud9. Even in some of the replays his teammates are noticeably surprised by his prowess, which reminds long-time viewers of his older days as being one of the best AWPers in the world.

Expect to see more greatness in the next coming tournaments.

Bold Prediction:

Space Soldiers upset Fnatic, but only by the skin of their teeth. North decimate Heroic. Cloud9 edge past Immortals, but not by much. Na'Vi lose to mousesports.

SK Gaming beat G2, but only by a little, and only because Fernando "fer" Alvarenga stays aggressive the entire game against Kenny "kennyS" Schrub. FaZe lays waste to OpTic.

Nothing more to say there. Go put your skin bets up now!
