The ESL One Cologne 2017 quarterfinals have finally come to an end.

The results of the Bo3 quarterfinal matches are as follows:

  • Na'Vi 2:0 G2
  • NiP 1:2 Cloud9
  • FaZe 2:0 Team Liquid
  • OpTic 1:2 SK Gaming

Na'Vi shocked the world to start the quarterfinals after two very close games against G2. Aleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev dominated with a K/D split of +14 and a destructive few plays to keep things constantly interesting. We also saw an amazing 1v3 clutch from Richard "shox" Papillon.

Cloud9 beat out NiP after three long maps. NiP had a great showing on Cache, but it seems the team's performances on other maps hasn't developed well enough just yet. Timothy "autimatic" Ta made an amazing play on Train against the Swedish team with a beautiful 3K.

FaZe crushed Liquid in both maps, only allowing the NA team to score 14 rounds in the entire match. Fabien "kioShiMa" Fiey and Nikola "NiKo" Kovač both earned 40 kills together and made some incredible plays against Liquid to secure their position in the semifinals against SK Gaming.

OpTic started today against the top international team today with a 13-2 half and kept a grip on the lead to win the first map. Their reign over SK was short-lived though, as the Brazilians managed to take back their dignity and keep some control in the bracket.

The semifinal matches start on Saturday, July 8. Cloud9, the last North American hope, will do battle against Natus Vincere, while SK Gaming will meet FaZe Clan in a rematch of the IEM Sydney and ECS S3 grand finals. Don't miss it!
