Daniel "ChuDat" Rodriguez has proven in the past season that he can go toe-to-toe with the best with no problem whatsoever. He's taken several sets off Joseph "Mang0" Marquez Jason "Mew2King" Zimmerman and has taken various games off the rest of the top five.
ChuDat has shown that spacies are not a large problem for him and at the higher levels, he seems to struggle with the floaties more than anything. In order for Chu to win EVO he'd need to get through Armada's peach and/or Hungrybox's Jigglypuff, both worthy adversaries.
The other option, of course, is for those two players to get upset by someone else Chu can beat. Based on skill alone, Chu has made tremendous strides in both of these match ups so there is no need for luck.
The best of three format for EVO will substantially help increase Chu's chances at winning as it gives people less time to adapt to his many wobbling setups and gimmicks.
Chu's also no stranger to performing well at EVO with a top eight performance back in 2015.
Being one of the few old school players able to compete in the modern top level, Chu is no stranger to these high pressure situations. As long as Chu brings the same fervor he brings in his raps to the battlefield, there's a good chance of it being curtains for all those who oppose him
