Counter Logic Gaming boosted up their coaching staff by hiring Steve “Ryu” Rattacasa as the team's new Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Head Coach. As a former player and co-owner of now defunct esports organization, Selfless, he should bring a unique perspective to the coaching position
A dramatic shift from his last outing in esports as an owner, he is now dedicated to the pursuit of building a CS:GO team focused on winning.
On joining the team, Ryu expressed his enthusiasm in the press release saying, "I’m extremely excited to work with an organization as revered as CLG, and can’t wait to get out to the team house and start putting in the work with the team. I’m both humbled and grateful for this opportunity and hope to make the fans proud.”
Ryu already has a philosophy that he would like to infuse into the team. “I’m here to get the absolute best out of each and every member of the team — be that the players themselves, the analysts, the support staff, and so on,” said Ryu.
If his time as an owner can affect things, like bringing in talent to both the roster and support staff, he could very well be able to make CLG a top contender internationally.
