There's nothing quite like a CS:GO event with a great playoffs stage filled with top-tier talent, and that's exactly what the top eight playoffs bracket for the ELEAGUE Premier 2017 looked to be.

The first quarterfinal round for Oct. 11 was FaZe Clan vs. Team EnVyUs, but it wasn't much of a fight.

  • FaZe Clan 16:12 Team EnVyUs (Nuke)
  • FaZe Clan 16:3 Team EnVyUs (Overpass)

It was surprising that nV managed to take that many rounds off of FaZe on any given map. FaZe has before overwhelmed teams solely off of their individual skill, so getting anywhere near dropping a map with their recent performances feels weird.

In a matchup that was far more fair than FaZe Clan vs. Team EnVyUs, North was set to take on Heroic. The desk favored North heavily in the matchup, but at least Heroic was favored by two of them to win. It's two more votes than nV got.

  • North 16:7 Heroic (Overpass)
  • North 16:7 Heroic (Mirage)

North just played clean Counter-Strike through and through as they claimed solid victories on both maps without being entirely shutting down Heroic.

Between that and the events of Oct. 10, the semifinals are all set. We knew Cloud9 would be facing off against Astralis, but we now know that the second semifinal will end up being FaZe Clan vs. North.

Tune in Oct. 12 for the big revelation that FaZe and Astralis will play in finals on Oct. 13. It's possible that the series' end up going another direction, but it doesn't look too likely.
