It's already been quite the year for League of Legends, and now it's become even more memorable.

The animated music video for the 2017 League of Legends Worlds Championship song, "Legends Never Die," has just been nominated for an Annie Award.

The Annie Awards are a set of American awards given out to commend accomplishments in animation. Having been awarded since 1972 by ASIFA-Hollywood, the Annies are a mark of excellence in animation, so having the "Legends Never Die" animated short nominated is a pretty big deal for Passion Animation Studios, the studio behind the short.

"Legends Never Die" has been nominated for the 'Best Animated Television/Broadcast Commercial' Annie award, running against other shorts like "June," "Please The Cheese," and "Biscotti. Una Storia Buona."

It's great to see the incredible work of Passion Animation Studios to be brought to light through the Annie Awards, and to see some of the spirit behind competitive LoL somewhat center stage along with it.

Here's to hoping "Legends Never Die" brings home an Annie!
