5 Takeaways From NA LCS Week 2

Week 2 of the NA LCS has seen the further fall of some of the old guard with CLG and TSM at the bottom of the standings.

But Baylife did snag a win and we still have one undefeated team left!

5. Old Team Liquid is Making Waves

Echo Fox is riding high with their 4-0 and it's mostly behind the play of former Team Liquid players Kim "Fenix" Jae-hun and Joshua "Dardoch" Hartnett. The "Breaking Point" days are far  behind them and the duo are in the Top 5 for KDA.

Beating TSM and Cloud9 in Week 2 will give a significant boost to the team going forward.

4. The New Team Liquid Leans On DoubleLift Too Much

A worry trend is coming out of Week 2 for Team Liquid. Yiliang "Peter" "Doublelift" Peng is being forced to play perfect or the team will lose, as evidenced in their loss to 100 Thieves.  Team Liquid needs a consistent second option going forward when Doublelift isn't clicking.

Jung "Impact" Eon-yeong is doing his part, but more production from Eugene "Pobelter" Park is ideal.

3. CLG Bot Lane is Missing Their Mentors

It's becoming clear that Trevor "Stixxay" Hayes and Vincent "Biofrost" Wang may have leaned on their mentors Zaqueri "aphromoo" Black and Doublelift too much in their time playing with them. Both are performing on the lower end of the spectrum at their respective positions, especially Stixxay who is dead last in KDA.

The two will have to work on their synergy to make up for the sudden lack of experience.

2. Golden Guardians Miss Out on Golden Opportunity

If Golden Guardians wanted to dig out of the early hole they fell in, Week 2 was the week to do it. At least one of the matches between FlyQuest or the struggling CLG should have been a gimme.

In Weeks 3 and 4, the Guardians face TSM, Team Liquid, 100 Thieves and the 4-0 Echo Fox.

1. Hauntzer Continues to Struggle

There's still no reason for TSM fans to panic, as the team at least get one win on the board this week. But fans should take note that Kevin "Hauntzer" Yarnell is still struggling to find his footing.

Competition is starting to thin out for next week so Hauntzer should capitalize and use this time to return to form.
