Danish Counter-Strike team North has benched superstar rifler Kristian “k0nfig” Wienecke for Nicklas “gade” Gade, according to sources close to the player and team. At this time, it is unclear what exactly prompted the organization to make this move. It is not expected that the reason behind the benching is related to joining a new team.

North didn’t waste any time following the ELEAGUE Boston Major, announcing the departure of veteran player René "cajunb" Borg the day after the event concluded. In his place is Daniel “mertz” Mertz, an AWPer from North Academy. Just like mertz, gade has been a member of North Academy since early 2017. North also changed coaches, swapping Casper “Ruggah” Due for veteran Alexander “ave” Holdt.

It should be expected that North play at least CS Summit 2 with this newly-formed roster later this month. The roster lock deadline for ESL Pro League Season 7 is Feb. 7, but the allotted number of roster moves per season gives North the freedom to re-promote k0nfig should it become necessary.

North have provided a comment: ""All potential changes of lineups is something we keep internally until we wish to announce it. As of right now, we have no further comment."
