5 Takeaways From EU LCS Week 4

Team Vitality remains atop the EU LCS standings after Week 4, but some familiar faces are rising up to once again claim the throne. Here are five takeaways for EU LCS Week 4.

5. Big Week for the Old Guard

Fnatic and G2 Esports are rallying back and making sure they will not be forgotten this split.

Both teams beat the woeful Unicorns of Love in Week 4 but they also got a chance to claim victory over some of the teams in the middle of the pack. Fnatic laid waste to Giants, G2 beat FC Schalke 04, and both teams ended the week with 2-0 outcomes.

4. Team Vitality Should Be Thankful for Minitroupax

A big part of Team Vitality's success is Amadeu "Minitroupax" Carvalho and his spectacular play. He's finding kills, keeping himself alive and playing with an incredible amount of confidence.

Week 4 saw the bot lane virtuoso pull out Ziggs in a professional game and end the match with a 5-1 KDA. Confidence personified.

3. Selfie Isn't Enough

H2K added Marcin "SELFIE" Wolski, but the move hasn't been enough to make a change in the win column for the team. He ended Week 4 with a 0/5/1 stat line, not an impressive debut at all.

H2K already brought in some veteran talent in the jungle with the signing of Ilyas "Shook" Hartsema.

2. Unicorns of Love Need Answers Quickly

H2K made changes in attempt to crawl out of its awful start. Unicorns of Love, on the other hand, are sticking to their guns as evidenced by their coach's comments.

The problem with that confidence is that it's blinding them from the fact that by the numbers they aren't matching up well at any position, and Week 4 doubled down on showing that change needs to come sooner than later.

1. Time for Misfits to Worry?

An 0-2 week for Misfits put the team in a three-game losing streak. Misfits does have a favorable matchup against Unicorns of Love in Week 5 but will face G2, FC Schalke 04 and Team Vitality in its next three matches following that one.

Chres "Sencux" Laursen had a 3/5/4 stat line for Week 4 and has continued to under perform this split. Week 4 might signal the beginning of the end for Misfits.
