For the first time in its eight year history, the largest Dota 2 tournament in the world will take place in Canada. The International 8 will be held in Vancouver, B.C., Valve announced Thursday.

After the first event took place in Cologne, Germany, the previous six iterations of the event, which boasts the largest prize pool in esports every year, took place in Seattle. The past three took place at Key Arena, but this year the event moves to Canada, and tickets are on sale now.

It's unclear why the change has been made, but there are surely many Canadian fans that are thankful to not have to make the border-crossing road trip to Seattle.

The event will take place Aug. 20-25.

Tickets are on sale now and available through ticketmaster. Mid-week tickets are $96 and finals are $192. The tournament doesn't begin until August, but tickets are going fast. Any fan that wants to catch a seat to the biggest DOTA 2 event of the year will have to act soon!
