North American Counter-Strike team Cloud9 is considering potential replacements for AWPer Tyler “Skadoodle” Latham, with one of the most prominent options being Josh “jdm64” Marzano, according to sources close to the team.
JDM has already practiced with Cloud9 this week alongside possible addition Epitácio "TACO" de Melo. Skadoodle has been a member of Cloud9 since April 2015, joining the team after originally planning to play with Spencer “Hiko” Martin. He is the longest tenured member of the active lineup and helped Cloud9 win the ELEAGUE Major: Boston in January. The reason for his possible replacement is unclear at this time.
The week is shaping up to mark a potentially significant shift in Cloud9's path. Jake "Stewie2k" Yip is in talks to potentially join SK Gaming, with the possible acquisition of TACO -- who left SK Gaming last week -- as a replacement. If Stewie and Skadoodle leave the organization, it would mark a departure from their two longest tenured players.
JDM has been without a team since his departure Team Liquid in February. He is still one of the best AWPers in North America and would be an interesting fit with Cloud9. It is unclear who Cloud9's other potential targets are at this time.
Cloud9 did not initially respond to request for comment.
